Abba, Father!

Lord! I cry out to you this morning, thankful for the privilege of knowing you, the ruler of heaven and earth. I am your beloved child, an heir to all you possess, and what do you not possess? You own it all.

I was looking at an image of Hunter Biden with his father, President Biden, and former president, Barrack Obama. Such easy comradery and joy. In the photo, his dad was laughing and smiling, obviously pleased to be there with his son. I was tempted to be jealous. What a lucky guy who, by nothing he has done but only by chance of birth, has such access to affluence and power. Then you reminded me that being the son of the President of the United States is nothing compared to being the son or daughter of the Supreme Ruler of the Universe–Almighty God, Everlasting Father, King of Kings, Lord of Lords. Joe Biden is subject to term limits, but you shall reign forever and ever.

The President’s obvious pleasure and love for his son is nothing compared to the love you have for me and the joy you receive from our relationship.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6 KJV

Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. Galatians 4:7 NLT

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they out number the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me! Psalm 139:17-18 NLT

Father, help me to represent the family well. Help me to remember that the children of power and wealth are held to a higher standard, their actions reflect on their father for better or worse. Let me always be about my Father’s business!
