By all accounts, Moses’s time on Mt. Sinai with God was wonderous.  Paul tells that when Moses came down from the mountain, his face was still so bright with the reflection of God’s glory that he wore a veil so that followers could bear to look at him.  No wonder he used the name, “El Haggadol” or “The Great God” when sharing what was revealed in the encounter.  Notice it is a compound name, beginning with “El” as in “Elohim.”

  • He is supreme over other gods and lords.
  • He is honest and just.
  • He is a miracle worker.
  • He is a multiplier.
  • He chose the Hebrews and their children from all the people groups of the earth.
