The entire world is focused on the coronavirus. The death count, the economic toll, mental and emotional damage, the forever changes in the fabric of society, and more. Nothing seems constant and everything we thought we could count on is turned on its ear.
But think about this, have you noticed that the sun still comes up every morning and goes down every night? Through all of time, during famine, war, and global pandemic, that has never been in question. Morning always comes and it is so predictable that science can tell you years in advance at precisely what time old Sol will peek over the horizon.
There is so much we do not know. Our Father God has chosen to hide the future from our gaze, but He has given us so many constant and predictable things to remind us that He is there and that He never changes. The sunrise is assured, our Creator made us that promise in Genesis 8:22(NLT), “As long as the earth remains, there will be planting and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night.”
Here are some other Bible truths about his character:
- He cannot lie (Numbers 23:19, Titus 1:2, Hebrews 6:18)
- He never changes (Hebrews 13:8, James 1:17)
- He never leaves us (Joshua 1:9, Zephaniah 3:17, Hebrews 13:5)
- He always comes to the rescue (Isaiah 41:10, Colossians 1:13, Romans 16:20)
Not only has He promised that morning will come everyday but there are wonderful promises about what comes along with the dawn:
- His mercy is renewed (Lamentations 3:22-23)
- Joy comes (Psalm 30:5)
- He teaches us (Isaiah 50:4-5)
- He tells us of His love (Psalm 143:8)
We can’t avoid thinking about the craziness all around us right now. But as we deal with the practicality of the crisis, remember that, as a child of God, you don’t have to figure it out on your own. Your steadfast, loving, powerful, wise, and very rich Daddy is an ever-present help in times of trouble! Cast your cares upon Him, because He cares for you! If you don’t know what to do, ask Him because He loves to help!
Thank you for the encouragement ! Beautiful reminder. God is so good!
