Life.
Just when you think you’re about to “get it”, it flies away like the bird you chased around the yard with a salt shaker when you were five. You followed that little bird, confident that if you could only shake a little salt on his tail you could grab and hold him.
But maybe the idea that we could, or should, get a grip on life is just as bogus as that myth about the bird’s tail. We tend to believe that happiness lies in getting our lives under control.
Truth is, neither birds nor life will sit still for that! Birds are amazing because they fly and a life that fits in the palm of your hand will never soar!
Better to follow life where it leads, chasing breathless and amazed!
